/ 24 October 2026

A TOTAL of 1,023 Manileños graduated from the third-quarter Technical-Vocational and Livelihood Training Program of the Manila Manpower Development Center, gaining practical skills to help them secure employment or start their own businesses.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso congratulated the graduates during a ceremony held at Pedro Guevara Elementary School, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to expanding livelihood opportunities and strengthening residents’ employability.

Domagoso said the city government aims to help residents acquire practical skills while creating an environment where businesses can start, sustain, and expand their operations despite economic challenges.

He also stressed that as businesses grow and establish their presence in Manila, qualified local residents should benefit from the resulting employment opportunities.

The mayor encouraged businesses operating and expanding in the city to consider hiring qualified Manileños to help ensure that economic growth translates into jobs and improved livelihoods for local communities.

Under the leadership of Manila Department of Social Welfare Director Jay dela Fuente, the city government continues to implement skills training and livelihood programs designed to improve residents’ earning potential and access to employment.

The city government said it would sustain initiatives that equip Manileños with marketable skills, help them secure jobs, improve their livelihoods, and establish their own businesses.
