No Baguio for Road Warriors lineup in PBA bubble
NLEX head coach Yeng Guiao confirmed Cyrus Baguio’s decision to decline to join the squad for the planned restart of the PBA season inside the Clark bubble next month.
Sources said that the UST product decided not to go to Clark to join the team due to family reasons.
The squad won’t have two veterans for PBA resumption after Larry Fonacier also chose not to play for the Road Warriors for the new season citing health matters in his family too.
Despite the decision of Baguio to excuse himself from the league’s reopening, Baguio has been actively working out with NLEX at the FCL Center in Xavierville, Quezon City.
The 17-year pro announced earlier this year that the 2020 Philippine Cup will be his last before he concludes his pro-basketball career.
After Baguio and Fonacier announcements in their absence to the forthcoming PBA season, NLEX young guns, sophomore Kyles Lao and rookie AC Soberano have been left off the Road Warriors’ 15-man bubble lineup.
Source said an overload of guards led to management not including Lao and Soberano in the lineup, considering only 25 personnel per team will be allowed in the bubble.
