ONIC Philippines is the first MPL team to announce roster changes, revealing three new acquisitions and posting their silhouettes on its Facebook page.

Some fans speculated about the new members, pointing out that Nexplay’s John Paul “H2wo” Salonga, Renejay “Renejay” Bacarse, and Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera were being referred to by ONIC’s ‘BIG’ announcement.

NXP’s big three split-up was also hinted by a Facebook status posted by Renejay on Wednesday and in a recent Facebook live by Setsuna “AkoSiDogie” Ignacio.

Nexplay’s esports general manager Baby Ignacio posted an announcement citing the team’s next big three and added silhouettes of the players for fans to guess with followed by a status of “K, H, C.”

ONIC player Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera, on the other hand, sparked rumors of transferring to Work Auster Force as analyst Dan “Leo” Cabungay posted a photo of the offlaner tagging Work’s coach John Laurence “Lift” Ruiz with a caption “We called in some reinforcements.”

“In general, the MPL transfer season is a pretty chaotic period. We’re currently in the ‘baliwan’ period where everyone is posting rumors and trying to get fans hyped for actual roster changes. Rumors from ONIC and other teams may be true or false but I definitely don’t want to spoil anything,” ONIC Phillippines head of strategy and business development Louie Cacho said in an interview with Spin.ph.

Fans are guessing left and right for the roster changes for the upcoming MPL-PH Season 8, however, no confirmation yet from teams and players has been made.
