The 19-year-old big man has started a new journey in Australia and is scheduled to start his first season in the NBL that will commence on November 18, 2021.

As a warm welcome, Kai met and received love from the Filipino community in Australia and a post from the Adelaide 36ers showed a glimpse of how the weekend went by.

“A massive thank you to the Filipino Communities Council of Australia for welcoming Kai on the weekend,” the Sixers said in their post.

“Kai enjoyed meeting and spending time with the community and we can’t wait to see everyone again as we get closer to #NBL22.”

Sotto, who will be the first Filipino to debut in the NBL,  shared and ate food such as Lechon and Ensaymada with the Pinoy community.

Meanwhile, head coach Conner Henry parted ways with the Adelaide 36ers and coach CJ Bruton will be handling the team in the upcoming season.

Also, Sotto already promised to represent the Philippines and compete as a member of Gilas Pilipinas in the third window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers and the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in the middle of the year.
