Heading’s Taichung Wagor Suns saw their two-game win streak come to an end following an 85-95 loss over New Taipei CTBC, Saturday at the National Taiwan University of Sports Gymnasium.

Marlon Johnson chipped in 23 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and three steals, while Abassi nailed 20 points, five boards, and five dimes to the win that improved New Taipei to a 4-3 record.

Lin Ping-sheng contributed with 15 points, four boards, four assists, and three steals, Cleanthony Early added 14 points, nine rebounds, and three dimes, while Thai import Chanatip Jakrawan ended with 13 points, four boards, three blocks, and two assists in the win.

Jordan Heading had an impressive 17 points coming from 5-of-11 shooting from deep, but it wasn’t enough to save the Suns from falling to their third loss in five outings.

Sani Sakakini dropped 16 points and 13 rebounds while Alonzo Gee and Cheng Chinghuan added 15 and 14 points, respectively, as Taichung dropped to 2-3 in the standings.

Taichung will try to redeem itself from the loss as it faces Taiwan Beer on Sunday at 3:00 PM.

Meanwhile, Tiongson’s Taoyuan got another beating at the hands of Tainan TSG, 113-132, Saturday at Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science Shao Tsung Gymnasium.

Tiongson posted another monster line with his 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting with 17 rebounds, three assists, a steal, and a block but was not enough to stop the Leopards from falling to a 1-5 record.

Leading 67-64 at the half, the Leopards offense suddenly crumbled in the third canto, nailing only 15 points while the Ghosthawks trailed with 32 points to gain a double-digit lead.

Tainan ended the game by having a 36-point quarter, putting up the highest points ever scored in the first season of the league so far.

Marcus Gilbert led the scoring with 41 points on 17-of-23 shooting from the field with 22 rebounds and eight assists as Tainan rose to a 2-3 card.

Charles Garcia added 24 points, eight boards, and three dimes, while Jordan Chatman nailed 19 points built on his 3-of-5 clip from deep, and nine boards.

Troy Williams paced the Leopards with 38 points, six rebounds, and four blocks. Cheng Wei logged 13 points, six assists, and four rebounds, and Du Yu-cheng and Tsai Yang-ming added 11 each in the defeat.

Tiongson and Taoyuan look to end their losing streak when they face Jordan Heading and Taichung on January 9.
