Former Sta. Lucia players Palomata and Prado have joined with the High Speed Hitters following Sta. Lucia’s leave of absence.

The team announced the acquisition on its social media Monday.

“We are excited to welcome our very own secret weapon Dell Palomata and Queen Lady Chief Jovy Prado as the newest additions to the High Speed Hitters fam!” the post read.

“This duo is ready to provide uninterrupted levels of play in the upcoming PVL season! Don’t sleep on these gals! Welcome home, Jovy and Dell,” it added.

Palomata and Prado are the second set of PLDT recruits after acquiring Kath Arado, Jessey De Leon, and Mean Mendrez.

The 6-foot-3 Palomata, a veteran middle blocker, was a member of the Air Force from 2016-2019 and played for the Philippine women’s volleyball team in the Asian Women’s Club Championship in Thailand last year.

The 5-foot-7 Prado, an outside hitter, is a three-time champion in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and a one-time champ in the PVL.

PLDT, which is in a rebuilding process under new head coach George Pascua, is seeking to improve from a seventh-place finish, with a 3-6 record, in the PVL Open last year.
