Joshua Munzon, Alvin Pasaol, CJ Perez, Mo Tautuaa, and Santi Santillan suffered their first loss against Qatar in a 12-21 score and followed by the slate of Slovenia 11-21.

Qatar’s Abdulrahman Saad went berserk as he gunned his team with 10 points followed by Nedim Muslic’s 9 points not giving ample time for the Philippines to retaliate where Cj Perez bolstered 6 points in their opening.

With Gilas’ first loss, they had to face their second against the world No. 4 Slovenians as Simon Finzgar bolstered 9 points while Gašper Ovnik and Anže Srebovt scored 6 points.

The young squad had a fatal start and needs to double their effort to stay on its Olympic bid where they are currently in 4th place.

Gilas will play against the last group of Pool C—France and Dominican Republic.

On the other hand, France and Qatar hold a record of 2-0, 1-1 for Slovenia.
