FIL-AM SAGE TOLENTINO COMMITS TO AUBURN TIGERS
With a long list of universities eyeing the seven-foot center, Sage Tolentino confirms his commitment to play in NCAA Division I basketball with the Auburn Tigers.
The Hawaii-raised star made the announcement late Thursday in an Instagram post shared by East-West Private.
“My family and I have prayed about this day since I was a kid. I am beyond blessed and I give God all the Glory,” Tolentino wrote.
“Auburn University’s core traditions are passion and spirit and they are exactly the program I want to spend my time at developing at the next level. It’s great to be an Auburn Tiger. War Eagle!”
The Auburn Tigers, under Coach Bruce Pearl topped last 2019 as the fifth seed which made it to the Final Four.
The prestigious university produced prominent standouts namely Charles Barkley, Chris Porter, Chuck Person, and, most recently, Chuma Okeke.
The 16-year-old has two more years left in high school before suiting up in the said university.
He previously received offers from other universities namely, Kansas, Kentucky, Tennessee State, and Cincinnati.
Tolentino led Maryknoll High School to a back-to-back Division I titles in the Hawaii High School Athletics Association (HHSAA) where he averaged 13.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game.
