EJ OBIENA’S PARTICIPATION IN SEA GAMES STILL IN DOUBT
Filipino vaulter Ej Obiena is yet to be included in the Philippines Athletics Track and Field Association’s (PATAFA) national training pool that will represent the country in the Southeast Asian Games.
The PATAFA president Philip Ella “Popoy” Juico affirmed that Obiena is completely still going to stay excluded from the pool.
“He’s not in the list right now as we have announced on January 28 and we will have to look at his case if he wants to participate,” Juico said.
Obiena’s exclusion in the list sparked up after his heated conflict with PATAFA but still continued representing the country and recently played Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais in France.
“He said he will ask for help from others [and] other people said they will work for his participation, so let’s see what works,” he shared.
The country will have to wait until March 12 to see whether the vaulter sensation Obiena will be included in the lists of athletes which will be given to the Vietnam organizers.
