This was announced by UAAP in a statement they released on their official Facebook page on Friday.

“As part of this collaboration, select events of the UAAP will be aired on One Sports channel and its other digital assets, ensuring an engaging and expansive coverage across different multimedia platforms,” the UAAP said in a statement.

“Despite the current challenges, the league is looking forward to the partnership as a new chapter that can take the UAAP to greater heights,” they further stated.

Currently, Cignal TV is the broadcasting media partner of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and National Basketball Association (NBA). Moreover, it has been the home for The Nationals, the esports professional league.

The collegiate league’s two-decade partnership with ABS-CBN Sports ended following the failure of its mother company, ABS-CBN, to acquire a new franchise last May.

According to reports, UAAP is targeting the start of Season 83 in April 2021 opting with a bubble setup with limited sports only.
