CIGNAL FENDS OFF F2 LOGISTICS; CLINCHES 2ND STRAIGHT WIN

Cignal HD Spikers defeated F2 Logistics Cargo Movers in a four-set match, 25-14, 25-21, 19-25, 25-18, in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Open Conference at Paco Arena in Manila.

The HD Spikers were able to nab the win against the Cargo Movers but in exchange for their ace hitter Ces Molina’s right ankle injury after landing on Kianna Dy’s foot in the fourth set.

Talagang tinapangan lang po namin, kahit na nakita natin kanina na may na-sprain po,” said Cignal HD setter Gel Cayuna, who marked seven points and 18 sets, earning Player of the Match honors.

Sana okay lang si Ces. Good thing nagperform si Malabanan and the whole team,” said Cignal head coach Shaq Delos Santos added.

With Molina out in the court, Rachel Daquis’s off-block hit followed by the block of Angeli Araneta finished the job and put the team at match-point.

However, the nit-biting situation was prolonged as Cignal committed an error and Kim Fajardo went for a kill to survive 18-24, but that did not last as F2 Logistics’s service error gave the triumph to Cignal.

“‘Yung ginagawa kasi nung first six ay ginagawa din ng second six. So ‘pag palit po, naging kumpleto lang din. Tapang lang talaga, kapit,” said Cayuna.

Cignal HD is now sitting on the lead of Pool A with an undefeated record, 2-0, while Cargo Movers sits in a 2-1 win-loss situation.
