CIGNAL CLINCHES TWICE-TO-BEAT ADVANTAGE IN QUARTERFINALS
The Cignal HD Spikers are now assured of a twice-to-beat quarterfinals advantage after dominating the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, 20-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-16, in the 2022 PVL Open Conference on Tuesday at the Paco Arena.
With their victory, the HD Spikers are one game away from sweeping Pool A and securing the top seed.
Roselyn Doria tallied a team-high 17 points on nine attacks and eight blocks, while Ces Molina added 14 points.
Choco Mucho started the match on a high note, taking the first set to take the lead, but Cignal quickly overturned them and won the next three sets.
“Sobrang happy kasi medyo slow start kami but good thing naka-recover at lumabas ang laro ng team namin,” said Cignal coach Shaq delos Santos.
On the other side of the court, Kat Tolentino led the Flying Titans with 19 points while Aduke Ogunsanya chipped in 10 markers.
Choco Mucho dropped to 2-1 and is currently tied with F2 Logistics. The two teams will face each other on Thursday to claim the top two seed and secure the other twice-to-beat advantage.
