CHOCO MUCHO DEFEATS F2 LOGISTICS IN A 4-SET MATCH, SECURES TWICE-TO-BEAT ADVANTAGE

The Flying Titans boosted their status as championship contenders in the league after a nail-biting four-set match over F2 Logistics, 21-25, 28-26, 25-20, 25-22.

It was indeed a hard-earned win for the Choco Mucho after failing to win the first set with four points deficit and finishing the second set with two deuces.

“I told my players there are a lot of things to be joyful about because we are given opportunities,” said head coach Oliver Almadro after the game.

“Like earlier, we dropped the first set, but we were given the opportunity to bounce back, so we have to be joyful and just be happy inside the court,” he added.

But thanks to Kat Tolentino’s explosive 19 point performance and Deanna Wong 44 excellent and her five attacks they were able to end the match in four sets.

“Personally I think it all boils down to trusting not just myself but my teammates,” Wong explained.

“We were only given one month to play with each other but we trusted each other enough, and for Des it’s a big thing that she was playing against her former team.”

The F2 Logistics was bannered by Kianna Dy’s 14 points followed by Aby Marano and Ara Galang’s 11 points each but was not enough to stop the Flying Titans in the fourth set as Desiree Cheng finished the job after Logistics’ Shola Alvarez made contact with the net.

As Choco Mucho advanced to a twice-to-beat berth, the Cargo Movers will try to deny PetroGazz, the top 2 clubs in Pool B with also a twice-to-beat advantage.
