CEU LADY SCORPION VENTURA LEADS TOP PERFORMERS IN WNBL DRAFT COMBINE

Sthefanie Ventura of Centro Escolar University (CEU), positioned her name as the leading performer in the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) Draft Combine last December 12-13 at the Victoria Sports Tower in Quezon City.

Ventura topped two of the agility tests, finishing the 3/4 court sprint at just 3.18 seconds while clocking in at 12.66 seconds in the lane agility run in the combined.

Nonetheless, Noella Cruz of the University of the Philippines (UP) also tied Ventura’s time and finished the lane agility test at 12.66 seconds.

Meanwhile, Syl Alcantara of  Asia and the Pacific was bannered as the fastest in the 300-yard shuttle run with a record of one minute and one second.S

University of the East (UE) standout Dianne Ventura, standing 5-foot-1 also impresses WBNL draft after having the highest leap of 27-inches in the max vertical jump.

Lastly, Kathleen Araja of Mary Rose Labrador ruled the shooting drills with an 83.3-percent clip average.

The agility exams were spearheaded by trainers Karlo Santos, Mark Caron, Aldo Panlilio, and Justin Aquino while two coaches from Tamita lead the body composition tests.

In addition,  Kiefer Ravena was also there to personally see the 115 aspirants to play for WBNL.

The draft combine is being supported by Victoria Sports, Chris Sports, Phenom, Tanita, Chooks-to-Go, Uling Roasters, and GIG Sportswear. 

Safety protocols were held properly during the test as it was supervised by the Games and Amusements Board, conducted with strict health and safety protocols that included antigen testing before entering the venue of the combine.
