CARLOS YULO BAGS BRONZE MEDAL IN JAPAN MEET
Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo is unstoppable in his prep for the Olympics as he captured the bronze medal in the parallel bars at the 2021 All-Japan Apparatus Championships at the Takasaki Arena.
“Being able to play with the bests is already an achievement for me. It was a pretty good performance but unfortunately, I didn’t reach my personal target score,” Yulo said in his Instagram post.
The 21-year old Yulo tallied 14.966 points in the parallel bars.
While the two-time Olympian Yusuke Tanaka finished as the victor of the tournament with a 15.400 score and Kaito Sugimoto with the same points.
And even though Yulo was not able to achieve his planned feat, still a lesson learned.
“I’ll definitely be using this experience to improve on my skills for future events.”
Also, the national association greeted him through a Facebook post stating that “Great performance, Caloy! We can’t wait to see you defy gravity in the Olympics.”
