Completing Group A are Myanmar, Singapore, and the winner of the Brunei-Timor Leste qualifying match.

While Group B consists of Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Laos. And each group’s top two teams will advance to the semifinals.

It’s been a decade and a year since the Philippines’ appearance in the semifinals round in the biennial tournament and Azkals may have the chance to end that drought.

While Philippine Football Federation president Mariano “Nonong” Araneta sent his wish luck to the team through the PFF website stating that “We wish the Philippine Men’s National Team all the best in the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup 2020 later this year.”

“It will be an interesting competition being held in the midst of the pandemic. Nonetheless, we request all Filipino football fans to rally around our team in its bid to be champion of Southeast Asia’s most prestigious football competition, which had a television audience of almost 200 million during the 2018 edition of the AFF Suzuki Cup.”

The Suzuki Cup has been postponed now for two times in a row last November 2020 and this year’s April, but will finally see action that will run from December 5, 2021 to January 1, 2022.
