In multiple sources closely monitoring the Growling Tigers’ fiasco, the 6-foot-2 sniper was not part of the roster that joined the team in the “Bicol bubble” unlike the rest of the squad who left.

Along with Asuncion who did not join the Sorsogon training camp was Sherwin Concepcion and Christian Manaytay.

In his playing records, Asuncion is a prospect with a high caliber as he showed promising performance.

Last UAAP Season 82, he played a total of three minutes and 19 seconds during the elimination round where he went scoreless and grabbed one rebound.

Despite not having an explosive rookie season the Chiang Kai Shek College product heavily contributed in the preseason.

During the PBA D-League in their match against TIP, the 21-year-old stalwart contributed a 20-points outing in a 53-point of UST whipping of the opponent.

Asuncion will still have four more playing years as he joins the Cardinals’ camp for NCAA Season 97.
