ALL 8 TEAMS TEST NEGATIVE FOR COVID-19, EVERYTHING ALL SET FOR PSL BEACH VOLLEY TOURNEY

All eight teams seeing action in the Philippine Superliga 2021 Gatorade-Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup tested negative for COVID-19 and is all set to open games on Friday.

PSL reported that all 57 players, team, and tournament staff who entered the Subic bubble are all clear from the virus.

Some players have begun their training ahead of the three-day volleyball tournament last Thursday morning.

PSL president Ian Laurel and 12 other match officials have also arrived inside the bubble and will be waiting for their Covid-19 test result in the Subic Peninsular Hotel.

Ariane Luna Alarcon and Christina Canares of Kennedy Solar Energy-Petro Gazz, Jonah San Pedro and Javen Sabas of Toby’s Sports, and Ella Viray and Theresa Ramas of United Auctioneers Inc. were among those who started their training.

Bang Pineda and Jonah Sabete of Sta. Lucia will be opening the tourney going against Ariane Luna Alarcon and Christina Canares of Kennedy Solar Energy-PetroGazz in Pool A.

While United Auctioneers, Inc. Viray and Ramas will be seeing action against Jennifer Cosas and Gelimae Villanueva of Abanse Negrense 2 at 9 a.m. in Pool B.

Meanwhile, F2 Logistics will be fielding Jenny Mar Senares and Kyla Angela Gallego and is set to face Alexa Polidario and Erjan Magdato of Abanse Negrense 1 in the 10 a.m. battle in Pool A.

The tournament also has Cherrylume, Ube Express, and Subic Bay Peninsular Hotel as sponsors and Cocolife, Cocogen Insurance, Data Project, and Genius Sports as technical partners.

Matches will be streamed live on the PSL’s YouTube channel.
