The 16-year-old Eala and her partner Solana Sierra of Argentina fell short to Chelsea Fontenel of Switzerland and Qavia Lopez, 6-3, 5-7, 2-10, in the Final 8 at the Frank Veltri Tennis Center in Plantation.

Eala also bowed out in the girls’ singles category after getting trounced by Kristyna Tomajkova of Czech Republic, 6-3, 6-3, last Thursday.

The tennis prodigy and her partner however gave a remarkable performance in the season for the two dominated Americans Krystal Blanch and Madeleine Jessup, 6-2, 6-1, in the opening round.

The third-seeded pair also defeated Mirra Andreeva of Russia and Katja Wiersholm of the US, 6-3, 6-2, in the second.

It has been an eventful year for Eala as she won her first professional title against Spaniard Yvonne Cavalle-Reimers, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 in the W15 Manacor tilt of the ITF Women’s World Tennis Tour in Spain.

Eala also snatched her second grand slam title after dominating the 2021 French Open Girls’ Doubles with Russian Oksana Selekhmeteva.

While the Filipina player still has two years left in the juniors’ division before she fully turns pro, Eala was glad with how this year turned out.

“I completed my 2021 Tournament season today with a Quarter Finals finish in Doubles of the Junior Orange Bowl. Thank you to all of you for always virtually cheering me on. Next up – Pre-Season Training for 2022,” she said.
