/ 7 July 2021

THE UNIVERSITY of the Cordilleras and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority inked a memorandum of understanding for the establishment of a Special Economic Zone Institute in the region.

The pact between the two institutions includes “economic cooperation through research, instruction, production.”

It also includes the creation of Knowledge, Innovation and Science and Technology Parks in the Cordillera Region.

“UC as a partner school shall bring expertise, technology, skills, and degree programs as required by investors in various industries,” the school said on Facebook.

“This, in turn, will transform the UC students into multi-knowledge, multi-skilled, and global workers and entrepreneurs,” it added.

PEZA is an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry that is tasked to promote investments and extend assistance to the country’s Special Economic Zones.
