TECHNICAL Education and Skills Development Authority Director General Isidro Lapeña joined local officials and residents of the Island Garden City of Samal in the groundbreaking ceremony of the city’s training center.

“Despite the pandemic, I am glad that this cooperation has proceeded as planned. And here we are today, to mark this milestone as a meaningful engagement for the betterment of our community and our kababayans through technical education and skills development programs,” Lapeña said in his speech.

Aside from the groundbreaking event, Lapeña also witnessed the launch of various skills training programs that will be offered by the new TESDA Training Center – IGACOS.

In October, TESDA and IGACOS Mayor Al David Uy signed a deed of usufruct that allowed the agency to use a one hectare land to build a training center.

The one-story training facility is being constructed by scholars who completed various construction training programs from TESDA-XI.

Once completed, the TESDA Training Center – IGACOS will offer training in Agri-crop Production NC II, Cookery, Beauty Care, and Construction Painting, among others.
