THE LOCAL government of Sto. Tomas in Batangas donated 947 laptops to the Department of Education to help teachers cope with distance learning.

The DepEd office in Calabarzon said that the local government allotted P27 million to purchase the Hewlett-Packard laptops that were turned over last week.

“Because of the challenges brought by the Covid19 pandemic, which changed the landscape of education, the learners and the teachers also struggled with technology constraints. Sto. Tomas LGU’s support in the education sector addressed schools’ tech needs in facilitating learning in the new normal,” DepEd Tayo Batangas Province said on Facebook.

It added that the donation will help boost teachers’ performance.

“This donation increases dispatch in the facilitation of the better performance of educational systems as it emphasizes effectiveness and efficiency in teaching-learning in every school in the district,” it said.
