SPAMAST GETS CASH GRANT FOR FOOD INNOVATION CENTER
THE DEPARTMENT of Science and Technology in Region XI granted P500,000 cash assistance to the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology.
The money will be used to procure equipment for the school’s Food Processing Innovation Center.
The establishment of the center is part of the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology project in the province.
The center was a collaborative project by the different national agencies and SPAMAST that aims to provide an avenue for the development of new and innovative products for commercialization.
The Provincial Science and Technology Center in Davao Occidental said that it granted the financial assistance to “support the goal of making coastal communities self-sufficient and food secure.”
SPAMAST President Dr. Ruth Lucero, Provincial Science and Technology Center – Davao Occidental Director; Maria Victoria Dad; and the SPAMAST IFMS Dean, Dr. Marlyn Llameg, led the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement in Malita, Davao Occidental.
