REGISTRATION FOR ILOILO MINORS WILLING TO BE VACCINATED NOW OPEN

/ 15 August 2021

THE CITY government of Iloilo started its registration for aged 12 to 17 who are willing to be vaccinated, according to the city’s Covid19 team.

Jeck Conlu, spokesperson of the team, said Mayor Jerry Treñas ordered the early registration to prepare for the expected vaccination rollout for children.

“We will no longer wait for September or October to start registration. We start as early as now so that in case, we already have registered the majority of our children,” Conlu said.

Those interested are advised to go to their barangay halls with their identification card or birth certificate.

The city government will also be coordinating with the Department of Education to have an idea of the children population.

Currently, only Pfizer has an emergency use authorization for the use of Covid19 vaccine on children aged 12 to 17.

However, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III earlier said the government will not vaccinate minors against Covid19 since more studies are needed.
