MBHTE GEARS UP FOR SCHOOL OPENING
THE MINISTRY of Basic, Higher and Technical Education launched the 2021 Brigada Eskewala in preparation for the opening of School Year 2021-2022.
The MBHTE’s Directorate General for Basic Education held the ceremony at Nalapaan Elementary School in Pikit, North Cotabato on August 13.
Brigada Eskwela is an annual activity where school personnel, parents, members of the community and other stakeholders clean, paint and do minor repairs in schools.
“Because of the pandemic, maintenance activities cannot be conducted. Nevertheless, the ministry has encouraged every school head to rather conduct continuous disinfecting measures in schools and classrooms,” MBHTE said in a statement.
MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal said that the pandemic has placed immense pressure on the education sector.
“We had to resort to alternative teaching-learning modalities to ensure classes will continue outside of schools or regular set-up,” Iqbal said.
“I surmise that our children and their parents had to adjust accordingly to conform with home-based learning requirements per the MBHTE Learning or Education Continuity Plan,” he added.
He reiterated that MBHTE is committed in improving the learning performance and protecting the well-being of the students.
“Moreover, we will continue to painstakingly introduce necessary reforms within the ministry and the educational system as per the Bangsamoro education code,” he added.
