THE LOCAL government of Maasin City in Leyte suspended classes in all levels in public and private schools on April 11 because of the heavy rains brought by Tropical Storm Agaton.

Mayor Nacional Mercado said all modes of learning were suspended.

Work in government offices and private establishments were also suspended.

Guiuan, Eastern Samar Mayor Annaliza Kwan also declared the suspension of classes in public and private schools, as well as work in government offices.

PAGASA placed four areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 after “Agaton” made landfall clear in Calicoan Island in Guiuan, Eastern Samar early Sunday.

Meanwhile, TCWS No. 1 was hoisted in provinces in Samar and Leyte.
