THE DEPARTMENT of Education in Region 2 said that the number of enrollees for School Year 2023-2024 already breached 800,000.

Cagayan Provincial Information Office Public Affairs Unit Head Amir Aquino said that the total number includes learners from Kindergarten to Senior High School.

He added that they expect the figure to increase as late enrollment is still ongoing.

Last school year, the enrollment in the region reached more than 900,000.

Aquino admitted that there is a shortage of teachers but said that they are doing everything to provide quality education to students.

He also thanked the volunteers and the parents who supported the department’s programs for the children’s education.
