THE DEPARTMENT of Education has appointed Dr. Portia Mallorca and Mark Anthony Tan as superintendent and acting assistant superintendent, respectively, of the newly constituted Victorias City Schools Division, Western Visayas Director De. Ramir Uytico said.

The two officials will be installed during a ceremony to be led by Uytico.

Superintendent Ma. Luz Delos Reyes, Iloilo City’s school division superintendent and president of all Western Visayas superintendents, is expected to witness the installation of Mallorca and Tan.

Mallorca was previously the school division superintendent of Kabankalan City. Tan was the SDS in Escalante City.

The creation of the new division was made possible by the efforts of Representative Jose Francisco Benitez and Victorias City Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca.

Uytico said that the division’s budget for  2022 has been approved.
