/ 15 November 2023

CAMARINES Norte Governor Ricarte Padilla suspended face-to-face classes in the province due to the possibility of flooding and landslides brought by heavy rains.

Classes in all levels were suspended on November 14.

“The Tropical Depression is forecast to move erratically and may intensify or maintain strength in the next 24 to 36 hours, the possible shear line may also result in heavy rainfall that will affect the Province of Camarines Norte,” an advisory issued by the provincial government read.

Most towns in Albay, including Guinobatan, Camalig, Daraga, Polangui, Libon, Bacacay, Sto. Domingo, Oas, Pioduran, Malilipot and Jovellar also suspended classes due to the continuous downpour.

Padilla urged the public and local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Offices to monitor the weather condition and to conduct preemptive evacuation if needed.
