CEBU CITY MAYOR EYES MASS VACCINATION IN SCHOOLS
CEBU City Mayor Michael Rama proposed the holding of mass vaccination in schools as part of preparations for the resumption of face-to-face classes.
The mayor said that he asked the Department of Health to allow mass vaccination in schools to give protection to more learners.
“I am in favor of the return to face-to-face classes. Thus, we bring the matter to the IATF with DOH to give this matter serious consideration,” Rama said.
“There’s at least one school that has approached us for our vaccination team to visit their campus where mass vaccination of their students will be conducted,” he added.
If permitted, Rama said that the city will begin the mass vaccination campaign in public schools, targeting children from pre-school to Grade 6.
“I will not be coercing but they know better that vaccination is the way to liberation,” the mayor said.
