CEBU CITY HONOR STUDENTS TO RECEIVE HIGHER CASH INCENTIVES
Honor students from public schools in Cebu City will receive higher cash incentives, the city government announced.
Councilor Alvin Dizon proposed an amendment to Ordinance No. 2454 — an ordinance that provides incentives to graduating honor students from public schools in the city.
In Dizon’s proposed amendment, valedictorians will receive a cash incentive of P6,000 from the previous P3,000.
Salutatorians will receive P4,000 instead of P2,000, first honorable mentions will receive P3,000 instead of P1,000 while second to eighth honorable mentions will each receive P3,000 instead of P500.
Dizon believes that using rewards for academic accomplishment will perpetuate positive behavior toward learning.
He added that recognizing honor graduates would motivate students to thrive in their studies.
