BTA WANTS ESTABLISHMENT OF BANGSAMORO MEDICAL SCHOOL

/ 25 November 2021

THE BANGSAMORO Transition Authority, the lawmaking body of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, wants to establish a medical school in the region.

Member of Parliament Susana Anayatin, who represents the Christian sector in the 81-member BTA-BARMM, filed a bill seeking to provide accessible, affordable, and comprehensive medical education through the Bangsamoro Medical School.

She said that Bangsamoro young people from different territories in BARMM will benefit from the measure.

The medical school, according to Anayatin, would be built to the “capacity and capability” necessary by the Commission for Higher and Technical Education of the Philippines and the Association of Philippine Medical Colleges’ licensing criteria and regulations.

APMC will be in charge of determining and approving the facility’s management and operations organizational structure.
