BILIRAN PROVINCE STATE U OPENS DOORS TO ‘ODETTE’ VICTIMS
THE BILIRAN Province State University will open its doors for its faculty and employees affected by typhoon Odette who will need shelter.
BiPSU said that its hostel, dormitory, and technology building can be used by the typhoon victims.
Evacuees were instructed to coordinate with the main campus for assistance.
“We urge all BiPSUnistas to observe extra precaution and ensure your safety and of your family. Always heed the preventive measures being imposed by your respective LGUs and monitor as well the development of this typhoon,” BiPSU wrote on its Facebook page.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration placed the province of Biliran under Signal Number 2 on Thursday.
“Odette,” (international name Rai), was classified as a Super Typhoon by the US Typhoon Warning Center.
Pagasa said the typhoon made landfall in Siargao Island on Thursday. It was packing maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 240 kph.
