SENATOR PUSHES FOR CONVERSION OF JOSE ABAD SANTOS SCHOOL EXTENSION INTO INDEPENDENT NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
SENATOR Imee Marcos pushed for the conversion of an extension school in Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental into an independent national high school.
She filed Senate Bill 1984 which seeks to separate the Jose Abad Santos National High School- Tabayon Extension from the Jose Abad Santos National High School.
It will be converted into Tabayon National High School.
Marcos, in her explanatory note, said while the extension campus continues to provide quality education, it is located 18 kilometers away from Jose Abad Santos National High School Main Campus in Caburan Big.
“In pursuing secondary education, the students have to cross three to ten kilometers of winding mountain roads and flooding rivers during the rainy season,” she said in her explanatory note.
