SENATOR Juan Edgardo Angara vowed to support incoming Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio in her stint as Education secretary by pushing for the necessary funding for the agency’s programs.

Duterte-Carpio earlier confirmed that one of her priorities as Education chief is the conduct of in-person classes next school year.

Angara said if he will continue to lead the Senate Committee on Finance, he will work to provide funds for DepEd programs.

“We are in full support especially if I’m elected as chairman of the Committee on Finance again, we will support Secretary Sara’s initiatives,” he said.

“Noong pandemic nga hirap na hirap tayo sa pera nasuportahan natin, ano pa kaya ngayon na meron tayong very young and dynamic leader,” he added.

“We are here to support. Kami sa Senado, kinikilala natin ang malaking mandato na nakuha ni Vice President Sara. Dapat suportahan ang bagong Bise Presidente na magiging kinatawan ng DepEd,” Angara said.
