SENATE PANEL APPROVES TESDA’S 2025 PROPOSED BUDGET
THE SENATE Subcommittee on Finance approved the proposed P18.7 billion 2025 budget for the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on Wednesday.
Senator Joel Villanueva led the panel in discussing the proposed budget.
“It is always encouraging to see our TESDA family working together to provide opportunities for a better life for our citizens, especially young people,” Villanueva said in his opening statement.
“For the past three decades, TESDA has made significant strides in improving the lives of Filipinos. Since 1994, 37.1 million Filipinos have received quality training. The employment rate for our TVET graduates is high, with 8 out of 10 finding decent jobs,” he added.
The senator also highlighted that the employment rate is even higher for Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) graduates, at 86-91 percent.
“That is why this representation advocated for the passage of the EBET Framework Act, a priority measure of the current administration,” he said.
Villanueva noted that 70% or P13 billion of TESDA’s budget will be allocated.
