SEAMEO INNOTECH HOLDS FORUM FOR TEACHERS
THE SOUTHEAST Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Innotech held a forum that aimed to enhance teachers’ teaching skills through arts and humanities.
The forum “Palette of Possibilities: Illuminating Teaching through Arts and Humanities” held on October 6, 2023 at the Center’s Pearl Hall in Diliman, Quezon City is part of the celebration of National Teachers’ Month.
It aimed to cultivate a renewed sense of enthusiasm and passion among teachers for incorporating arts and humanities in enhancing the learning experiences of students.
It focused on three thematic areas: Art and Wellbeing, The Power of Storytelling, and Arts and Technology.
Around 100 educators from all over the country attended the event and more than 1,000 online participants also joined via Zoom.
In her welcome message, SEAMEO INNOTECH Director and former Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis-Briones recognized the contributions and sacrifices of teachers who she called beacons of hope and knowledge.
“You illuminate the path for our future generations. It is you who produce the engineers, the scientists, who suffer and lead. Any successful doctor or any successful politician is the product of a teacher, parents, and their sacrifices for their education and development,” Briones said.
