SC RENEWS COMMITMENT TO PROTECT CHILDREN

/ 17 July 2021

THE SUPREME Court pledged its commitment to help protect children as it renewed its partnership with SaferKidsPH Consortium.

“The Philippine Judiciary is committed in doing its part in ensuring access to justice for those who are victims of deplorable and vicious activities,” Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo said.

He deplored reports that cases of online exploitation of children have increased during the pandemic.

The chief justice shared that the Supreme Court En Banc has approved a resolution for the drafting of a comprehensive Benchbook for the disposition of family cases.

He said that appellate court justices, Supreme Court officials, trial court judges and court personnel will participate in SaferKidsPH projects.

SaferKidsPH is an initiative of the Australian government. It aims to reduce the prevalence of online sexual abuse and exploitation of children in the Philippines by enhancing the child protection system.
