PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS OF LIMAY, BATAAN GET FREE LAPTOPS

/ 4 August 2020

THE LOCAL government unit of Limay, Bataan donated 650 units of laptops for public school teachers in support to the learning continuity program of the Department of Education.

The LGU is currently fixing the wireless local area network connections in all barangays and schools in the town to provide free and unlimited use of the internet among students and teachers.

The initiative is in support and assistance to the primary needs of the schools as part of the preparations for the opening of classes on August 24.

With the new laptops, teachers will be able to prepare new methods of teaching in times of the Covid19 pandemic.

The gadgets can be used for creating learning modules, attend webinars, and many other tasks while at home.

The Local School Board of Limay also allotted funds for the printing of the learning modules in response to the call of Schools Division of Bataan and the Provincial School Board to prioritize the printing of the learning materials in preparation for a modular instruction as part of the new normal.

“Aside from the laptops and internet connection, the construction, renovation, and repainting of school buildings in various schools of Limay were given priority as well. This is also part of a long-term plan to minimize the number of students inside each classroom,” said Limay Mayor Nelson David.
