SENATOR Joel Villanueva on Friday urged the 797 education course graduates of the Philippine Normal University to be inspired teachers in the future.
In his speech during the graduation ceremony of PNU, Villanueva stressed that being a teacher is the most noble and most important job in the world.
“And teachers make all other professions possible. Teachers make all other professions possible. Yes, even politicians. Yes, even senators. Leaders of this nation. Kaya, napakahalaga ng mga guro. There’s greatness in teaching.
Kapag mangmang po ang isang bayan, madaling masakop ng dayuhan,” Villanueva said.
At the same time, Villanueva urged the graduates to make a difference and adopt to modern technology in the world.
“Ang mundo ay nagbabago. How I wish may Chat GPT na nung estudyante rin ako. And that is why it is important to make a difference. Sabi po ni William Arthur Ward, sabi po niya, the mediocre teacher tells, the good teacher explains, the superior teacher demonstrates, But what I’m trying to leave you behind, ay yung huli,” he added.
“The great teacher inspires. You cannot inspire if you’re not inspired. Am I correct? Am I correct or am I correct? You gotta be inspired to inspire others,” he stressed.
The lawmaker also praised all the parents, siblings and other guardians for their sacrifices they make for the graduates and gave them the lyrics of the song MAPA of SB19.
“Kaya huwag mag-alala, ipikit ang iyong mata, ma, pa. Pahinga muna, ako nang bahala. Labis sa labis ang iyong magawa, ma, pa, pahinga muna, ako na,” Villanueva sang.
