THE PHILIPPINE  National Police is preparing to deploy more personnel to protect students as more schools announced that they will hold face-to-face classes soon.

The latest to confirm the holding of physical classes was the Ateneo de Manila University. It said that face-to-face classes will start in January 2022.

“The reopening of colleges and universities to physical classes means that we have to strategize our security plan, especially that students, teachers, and other non-teaching personnel are expected to go outdoors,” PNP chief General Dionardo Carlos said.

“This is still happening at the time of pandemic so the PNP would like to remind the schools to strictly adhere to the health protocol,” Carlos added.

The PNP said it will monitor the vicinities of schools to ensure the safety of the students.

Some schools started holding in-person classes last November.
