PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday appointed Court of Appeals Justice and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila College of Law Professor Jhosep Lopez as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.

Lopez has been serving in the City of Manila since the early years of his career.

Lopez was a former councilor of the city of Manila. He also served as chief city prosecutor before being appointed to the Court of Appeals in 2012.

PLM President Emmanuel Leyco congratulated Lopez on his new appointment.

“We proudly congratulate Associate Justice Jhosep Lopez for his appointment to the Supreme Court,” Leyco said.

“May he continue to uphold PLM’s values of karunungan, kaunlaran, at kadakilaan as he takes his seat at the en banc and delivers just decisions,” he added.
