PHILIPPINE BOOK FESTIVAL 2025 DRAWS OVER 40,000 VISITORS
THE PHILIPPINE Book Festival (PBF) 2025, the country’s largest all-Filipino book festival, concluded on a high note after four vibrant days, attracting more than 40,000 visitors.
Organized by the National Book Development Board (NBDB), the free event reaffirmed its status as the premier celebration of Filipino books, authors, and publishers.
Held at the Megatrade Hall in SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City, PBF 2025 was more than just a gathering of industry leaders—it was a transformative moment for local publishing. Authors, publishers, educators, and readers came together in an unprecedented show of support for Philippine literature.
Festival-goers browsed thousands of books for sale, participated in exhibits, storytelling sessions, and workshops for aspiring authors and illustrators. Many marveled at the Pakyawan Plaza, an intricately designed, Pahiyas-inspired bahay kubo.
Other festival highlights showcased cultural celebrations, including the Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo City, the Tuna Festival of General Santos City, and the Panagbenga Festival of Baguio City. These thematic realms were designed by renowned children’s book artists Pepot Atienza, Juno Abreu, Paul Eric Roca, and Danielle Florendo.
From the moment the doors opened, excitement filled the air. Filipino authors and publishers found themselves at the heart of an eager audience, with visitors lining up to meet their literary idols, discover new stories, and celebrate the richness of local storytelling.
One author described the experience as a dream come true, saying the attention they received at PBF 2025 was something many writers only aspire to. Seeing long lines of readers eagerly waiting for book signings was an unforgettable moment.
