PEZA, 2 BAGUIO SCHOOLS TEAM UP FOR JOB OPPORTUNITIES
THE PHILIPPINE Economic Zone Authority partnered with two schools in Baguio City in a bid to create an economic zone in the region and provide jobs for Filipinos.
PEZA Director General Charito Plaza signed a memorandum of understanding with officials of the Baguio State University and St. Louis University to create a bilateral cooperation for the construction of a Special Economic Zone in the Cordillera Administrative Region to encourage export-based investments.
Plaza hopes that the BSU will become a Knowledge, Innovation, Science and Technology – Special Economic Zone Institute.
BSU President Felipe Comila said that the MOU signing with PEZA was a “great privilege.”
“This is now the beginning; therefore, we must have a vision to have mutual cooperation and be agile in our actions. We must leave a legacy for the Benguet community and CAR,” he said.
PEZA and SLU’s collaboration intends to recognize the university’s critical role in the development and promotion of the Cordillera as an export-oriented regional economy.
