PBBM LEADS INSPECTION OF NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SPORTS FACILITIES
PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. led the inspection of the state-of-the-art facilities of the National Academy of Sports (NAS) at the New Clark City Sports Complex in Capas, Tarlac.
The President was accompanied by Education Secretary Sonny Angara during the visit.
The facilities showcase the administration’s commitment to supporting young Filipino student-athletes by providing world-class training venues and modern academic infrastructure.
Marcos also interacted with young athletes from various sports disciplines during his inspection of the NAS facilities.
“We are immensely proud to see how this institution has grown into a premier hub that bridges elite athletic training and quality academic education for our youth. Under the leadership of President Marcos, we will continue to enhance these spaces to produce champions who will proudly represent the Philippines on the global stage,” Angara said.
NAS Executive Director Associate Professor Francis Carlos Diaz said it was a great honor and privilege for the student-athletes to meet the President.
“It is a big honor and privilege for our student learners to have a chance to meet His Excellency, President Ferdinand Marcos. We recognize the strong commitment and support of President Marcos for our national athletes and young Filipinos pursuing careers in sports,” Diaz said.
The NAS was established under Republic Act No. 11470 to institutionalize a premier educational and athletic pathway for gifted young Filipinos, the Department of Education (DepEd) said.
