PASIG CITY VACCINATES EDUCATION PERSONNEL

/ 14 July 2021

HUNDREDS of non-teaching employees of the Department of Education in Pasig have been vaccinated by the city government.

Included in the A4 priority list were 790 personnel of the DepEd central office. Personnel of the DepEd MIMAROPA whose office is also in Pasig will also be inoculated.

“We are grateful to the Pasig City local government for accommodating and ensuring that our personnel are safe from the virus through administering Covid19 vaccines. This is a step to make sure that our employees will be able to serve our stakeholders with an added layer of protection against the virus,” Education Secretary Leonor Briones said.

Briones reiterated the importance of getting vaccinated, saying it is part of the shared responsibility of citizens in making sure that everyone is safe from the virus.

“As we aim to mitigate the effects of Covid19 and to return to our normal lives, we encourage our teachers, personnel, stakeholders, and the Filipino citizens to take part in the vaccination program of our government. Let us protect ourselves, our children, and our community,” she said.

Dr. Rainero Reyes, Medical Officer III of the DepEd-central office clinic, encouraged Filipinos, especially education frontliners, to get jabs.

“Inaanyayahan natin ang lahat ng mga empleyado ng ating Departamento, ng Kagawaran, para mabakunahan na, makapagsimula na tayo ng panibagong new normal. Wala po tayong dapat alalahanin sa mga nadidinig nating ibang mga balita. Ang side effects ay natural na epekto ng bakuna sa ating katawan,” Reyes said.
