PARENTS of minors aged 12 to 17 were urged to have their children vaccinated against Covid19.

Infectious disease specialist Dr. Edsel Salvaña said parents should not hesitate to get their kids inoculated.

“All these doctors rushing to get their kids vaccinated against Covid19 as the vaccine programs in their home countries open to the younger ones are either really smart, or just haven’t done their ‘research’,” Salvana said.

The Philippines started vaccinating minors on October 15, giving priority to those with comorbidities.

The vaccination program has been expanded nationwide to cover more adolescents.

On Monday, the Department of Health reported that at least 203,357 minors aged 12 to 17 have been vaccinated against Covid19.

The government aims to vaccinate at least 80 percent of the 12.7 million children before yearend.
