SCHOOL year 2021-2022 has yet to start but a youth group has predicted that it will be a failure if the government continues to neglect the needs of the students.

“Another school year accompanied with the government’s negligence will result in utter failure. This is all the more reason why we need to keep pushing for the demands of the education sector,” Samahan ng Progresibong Kabataan said.

The group claimed that the previous school year was hard for students, teachers, and families.

SPARK called for mass vaccination, internet and gadget subsidies, affordable tuition, and recognition of internet access as a right.

“Without them, education will stay as it has always been in the past year and a half: a joke,” the group said.

It reiterated that education should be free, accessible, and safe during the pandemic.
