KABALIKAT SA PAGTUTURO ACT WILL HELP EASE TEACHERS’ FINANCIAL BURDEN, SAYS SOLON
NAVOTAS City Representative Toby Tiangco said Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act would help ease teachers’ financial burdens related to teaching supplies, learning materials and other incidental expenses.
The solon made the statement as he lauded the signing of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the law increasing to P10,000 supply allowance to public school teachers.
“Public school teachers continue to face diverse challenges so this additional allowance will help in easing some of their burdens and worries as they fulfill their functions as educators,” the lawmaker said.
“Malaking tulong itong additional allowance na pwede nilang magamit para sa mga paunang gastusin sa pagbubukas ng klase,” he added.
Based on the IRR, teachers will receive an initial allowance of P5,000 for the School Year 2024-2025.
In the following school year, the allowance will increase to P10,000 and will remain at that level during succeeding years.
“President Marcos has consistently outlined his policy goals to improve public education, and I fully support crafting meaningful legislation that expands teachers’ benefits and ensures quality education for all Filipino students,” he noted.
The Navotas solon emphasized that the allowances under this law will also be extended to other public school personnel.
“Hindi lang teachers ang makikinabang dito, kundi pati mga guidance counselors, librarians, vocational instructors, pati na rin mga mobile teachers at mga nasa Alternative Learning Systems,” he said.
