The Department of Education has released the academic calendar and activities for School Year 2021-2022.

It said that the school calendar is “in accordance with its commitment to learning continuity amidst the health crisis.”

DepEd Order No. 29 bans face-to-face classes.

“The conduct of face-to-face classes, whether in partial or full scale, will not be allowed unless permitted by the Office of the President,” the order read.

The department allowed private schools and state and local universities and colleges to have their own academic schedule.

“They may begin classes not earlier than the first Monday of June and not later than Sept. 13, 2021 pursuant to RA (Republic Act) 11480,” it said.

The department earlier announced that the opening of classes will be on September 13. Enrollment for the next school year will be held from August 16 to September 13.

The Christmas break will begin on December 20, and classes will resume on January 3, 2022.

Remediation or advancement classes in public schools will start on July 4, 2022, and end on August 12, 2022.
